I loved reading about your beach time! I haven’t been to OBX in about 18 years but as a teen and young adult, we would have all our family vacations there, either in Kitty Hawk or Duck, and your descriptions brought it all back. When you’re able to make a return trip, there is a great indie bookstore in Manteo, on Roanoke Island. I can’t remember the name of the shop but it was a must visit on a rainy day or when we’d all had too much sun.
Well now that you have read A Gentleman in Moscow I def recommend the series with Ewan MacGregor. It necessarily skims through the story pretty quickly, but I thought it captured charm and humor that I didn’t fully appreciate in the book because I was so busy trying to keep the plot and the characters straight. Maybe wait a little while so that you don’t get caught saying “Wait, that’s not right!” every 15 minutes!
Vacation as a parent of littles is a misnomer. It’s a trip.
💯💯💯 Never felt the phrase “I need a vacation from my vacation” more deeply.

Putting it on my list! At my pace, it'll be a good year before I get to it anyway. Lol.
